Welcome to Day 10 of your Spanish journey! Today’s focus is learning how to ask and tell time — a practical and essential skill in everyday conversations.
🕒 Most Useful Time Phrases in Spanish:
¿Qué hora es? – What time is it? (keh OH-rah es)
Es la una. – It is one o’clock (es lah OO-nah)
Son las dos. – It is two o’clock (son las dos)
Son las tres y cuarto. – It is 3:15 (son las tres ee KUAR-toh)
Son las cuatro y media. – It is 4:30 (son las KWA-tro ee MEH-dee-ah)
Son las cinco menos cuarto. – It is 4:45 (son las SEEN-ko MEH-nos KUAR-toh)
¿A qué hora...? – At what time...? (ah keh OH-rah)
Es mediodía. – It’s noon (es meh-dyo-DEE-ah)
Es medianoche. – It’s midnight (es meh-dya-NO-cheh)
🧠 Tip: Use “es la” for 1:00 and “son las” for all other hours!
